What is your favorite type of weather?
The sun is hiding behind the clouds in the sky; trees are changing colors and there is a faint crisp scent of dead leaves in the cool brisk mid-day air. I have my mug in hand, getting ready to pour a freshly brewed piping hot cup of coffee from the Mr. Coffee maker; no cream needed. It was the best cup of coffee I’ve ever had out of a home coffee machine, and I will never forget the moment I took a sip of the aromatic java that swished around my cup as I put it up to my mouth, especially on a day like the one this article is about.
Fall days are my most favorite of all of the seasons we have in my region during the year. The weather is not too hot, or too cold, but just right. All you’ll need is a pair of jeans and a t-shirt / sweatshirt combo and you’re good to go. You can do pretty much anything outside without working up a shower-worthy sweat. Its just comfortable weather overall. Roughly the end of August to mid-to-end of November, we have this pleasant but gloomy weather. It may seem somber, but we don’t have all of the bugs that are out in the summer; no more annoying bugs like mosquitos or June bugs and spiders, its a wonderful thing. The spiders and praying mantises are finding their places to hide so they can make way for the new generation of bugs that will come the next year. Most if not all kids are dreading the end of summer vacation as they will be heading back to school. Animals who hibernate are beginning to stock up on food for the winter before the snow begins to fly.
I am one of those people who like to cover up when I sleep, no matter the time of year. When fall hits, the night temperatures get much cooler, the air more brisk and it just feels so good to curl up under a warm cozy blanket. I love to see the trees change color and hear the wind wisp the leaves around the roads and grass. Before we know it, the trees are bare and all we see are empty limbs and then we realize the inevitable is coming…
Snow.
