Coffee’s Creative Corner!

With the emergence of AI-Generated Art, its becoming a challenge to real artists in many different ways. Human artists put a lot of time and effort into their work, which AI Generated art can do in seconds. There is no thought put into an AI Generated image, it is stealing from data that is already available, which has to come from somewhere (human artists). Jobs are being taken away from human artists as companies can have logos created in seconds. Human artists have a need to create, whilst AI does not; it is only prompted. Ever since AI Generated images became mainstream, human artists do not get enough credit, especially the ones who may not be classified as professionals or the ones who are just starting out. They just get hidden in the background, barely being acknowledged. Human artists love to know their art is appreciated; and in many cases, what keeps them creating – and this is where this page comes in. Coffee’s Creative Corner is a place where I’ll showcase a real artist on the site every month!

Note: Depending on the popularity and how many responses I get via my interview form, I may go up to showcasing two artists per month. Artists who generate AI images and call it art are prohibited from being featured on the site. If you notice a violation, please contact me right away so I can investigate further.

Q: When did you start making art?
A: I started drawing when I was 3, but I only started taking art seriously when I was 14.

Q: What’s one of your earliest memories of creating art, and what feeling did it evoke in you?
A: I remember making a paper hand turkey. I recall it being fun, but struggled to make it look good because I did, and still, have trouble with scissors.

Q: If your art could speak, what’s the first thing it would say about you?
A: It would say that I’m wacky for sure. I take too much inspiration from cartoons (looking at you Ren & Stimpy)

Q: Describe your creative space in three words. What makes it uniquely yours?
A: Solitary, breezy, and noisy. I like being alone while doing art and am usually very self-conscious about it in real life. I need noise in the background while I work, so rain, my box fan, and music all help.

Q: If you had to pick one color that represents your artistic journey so far, what would it be and why?
A: Green because it soothes me and I use it very frequently in my pieces.

Q: Is there a particular song or type of music that consistently puts you in your creative zone?
A: I love classical music, vocaloid music, or vintage music from the 30s through 90s.

Q: If you could collaborate with any historical artist, living or dead, who would it be and what kind of project would you undertake?
A: I would collab with Bob Camp to make some sort of animation.

Q: If your art were to leave a legacy, what message do you hope it would convey to future generations?
A: I would hope it would convey for them to become indie animators and to not pursue a job with the networks.

Q: Is there anything else of interest that you would like to share with us?
A: I use Kleki and Magma for digital art, and FlipaClip and Wick Editor for animation.
